What it is

StageCraft is YTC behind-the-scenes training program. Students (and parent partners) become essential collaborators in the production process, learning how to design, build, and manage the world of the show. From props and costumes to sets, lighting, and stage management, StageCraft makes the magic of theater possible. Registration guarantees your place in the program.

The Hybrid Training Model

StageCraft blends hands-on workshops with online learning, so participants build vocabulary, safety skills, and project planning confidence before stepping into live production.

  • In-person: Weekly Sunday sessions focused on hands-on projects and crew teamwork

  • Online: Orientation modules, vocabulary guides, design examples, and committee updates in the Collective Portal

  • Performance readiness: Collaboration, responsibility, and leadership in a live backstage environment

StageCraft Pathway

The program progresses through three learning levels during the season:

  • StageCraft Basics: Safety, vocabulary, and introductory design work

  • StageCraft Intermediate: Committee work in costumes, props, sets, and sound/light

  • StageCraft Advanced: Leadership in backstage crews, stage management, and production week

What’s included

  • Participation in StageCraft committees for Mean Girls and Kind Kids

  • Weekly Sunday sessions Sept–Nov (90 minutes)

  • Orientation module through Thinkific

  • Access to the Collective Portal with schedules, project notes, and safety guides

  • Participation in technical rehearsals and production week at East High School

Payment options

  • $150 deposit secures your spot (balance due October 15, 2025, plus $100 kit fee)

  • Pay full tuition and kit fee at checkout

  • Pay remaining balance after deposit

Your tuition supports more than just rehearsals. It gives every Company performer access to YTC’s hybrid training model, the Collective Portal, and the full production of Mean Girls: High School Version.
