COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS

Youth Theater Collective

Clear communication is essential to a student-led program.

Primary Communication Channels

YTC uses designated platforms for official communication, which may include:

  • Email

  • A member portal

  • Scheduled meetings or rehearsals

Participants and families are responsible for checking these channels regularly.

Response Expectations

  • Non-urgent messages will typically receive a response within a reasonable timeframe.

  • During production periods, response times may be extended due to rehearsal and performance schedules.

Urgent safety-related concerns should be communicated as soon as possible through designated channels.

Student Communication

Students are encouraged to:

  • Communicate directly about their roles and responsibilities

  • Ask questions early

  • Practice professional, respectful communication

Adults may be included in communication as appropriate.

Parent/Guardian Communication

Parents/guardians are encouraged to:

  • Support student independence while remaining informed

  • Address concerns respectfully and directly with program leadership

  • Avoid using group communication channels for individual issues

All communication should remain:

  • Respectful

  • Clear

  • Purposeful
